Happy Birthday Charlie

Dearest Charlie,

It was love at first sight the day we met...

You quickly grew into the most adorable (and rambunctious) puppy.

You were our first "baby" and quickly became best friends with our second.

You share your toys and your bed...

and even let Ellie share her hats.

Once, you thought a large piece of foam would make a yummy snack.
You had to have that "snack" surgically removed (leaving you with a twelve inch scar)!

You and Ellie grow closer every day.
You love when she chases you all over the house and you now bring your ball to her (instead of me) to throw over and over (which she happily will)!

You two love to just hang out and you are always glad to be her pillow...or chair...

or step stool...

Now you have another little sister to protect and you couldn't be happier!
I know you and her will be just as close.

You've been with us for four years now, and we couldn't imagine our lives without you.
I proudly show off your pictures just as much as I do Ellie's and Josie's!

Since we've had you, we've replaced all of our trashcans with ones with lids, have to vacuum more than I ever care to, and learned that the Swiffer Wet Jet is the best invention ever made...

However, we never have to pick up any dropped (or toddler flung) food from the floor, get a whole lot more exercise and go on more country drives (your favorite!) "just because".

You were the first one to teach us what unconditional love really means and you continue to bring happiness and laughter into this house on a daily basis.
(And you can always be counted on for a hug!)
